Bailey and Son Woodworking has designed and built interior architectural elevations of wood for fine homes in the Tampa Bay area since 1972. We build mantles, wall units, bookcases, gun cases, hidden rooms, media centers, home theaters, home offices and especially paneled libraries. We build kitchen and bath cabinets with traditional details: beaded face frames, antique glass door panels with stick and cope mullions, reproduction pulls and flush doors hung on full mortise finial hinges.

Who do we work for?

Fully licensed, bonded and insured, we work for homeowners, contractors, designers and architects. Whether you need a simple bookcases or a luxurious paneled room, we enjoy working for anyone who appreciates fine woodwork.

How do we work?

Our goal is to bring your vision to reality. We work from designer/architect drawings or pictures from magazines. No matter the starting point, we produce a full set of computer generated CADD drawings before we mill, rout, carve and shape the hardwood components that will become your completed project.

Often we work in occupied homes where we strive to work cleanly and keep a predictable work schedule. We start work in the home when we have completed the shop work and we stay on each job until completion.

A word about finishing...

Our finishing routine is labor intensive, requiring a great deal of time to sand, stain , seal and build topcoats for a high quality finish. We use pre-catylized lacquers and industrial finishing materials for a durable, resistant finish and state of the art HVLP spray equipment for minimum overspray and maximum the transfer rate.

Why use Bailey and Son?

We enjoy what we do and it shows. Although we work in a modern shop with lasers, electronic calibers and computers, we use traditional wood joining techniques and timeless classical design proportions. While outsourcing is the industry standard, we make raised panel doors "in house" to sequence match wood grain. Our door details match our wainscot, paneled wall and paneled carcass details; since we make all those as well. We run our own moldings and match any profile or create new molding profiles as required. Custom drawer dovetails are cut in-house. Our shop also makes custom turnings and carvings.

Using traditional hand tools and modern technology, we will build your cabinetry and custom woodwork to timeless standards, the way "they don't do it anymore".
